About This Course

This course is an introduction to running sound for a church service.  Sound reinforcement can greatly enhance or detract from a service, and  taking the time to learn how to properly set up, check, and run your  sound system is vital to a distraction-free worship service!

Territorial Director of Communications, USA South Bernie Dake

Bernie Dake is a fourth generation Salvationist and son of retired officers from the USA Eastern Territory. He and his wife Laura reside in Tucker, Georgia and soldier at the Atlanta Temple Corps where Bernie is a songster and bandsmen. Bernie has performed and traveled extensively with many groups both professionally and as a Salvationist, and can be heard on more than 60 recordings. Bernie is the Assistant Territorial Music Secretary and Director of Music Publications, Production and Marketing for The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory. He has engineered and co-produced several recordings including Phil Laeger's All I Held Onto, Marty Mikles' Running in Circles, transMission's Send the Fire!, I Know a Fount, Be a Hero, Unfailing Love, The World For God, and The Singing Company's Red Book Sessions. He believes in the power of people. Proverbs 27:17 is often used in his talks and it says: As Iron sharpens Iron, so one man sharpens another.
